On Thursday, October 27th, Mayor John Dunmyer II presented Ericka Goss, Head Start PFCE Manager, with a proclamation recognizing Head Start Awareness Month.

On Thursday, October 13th, the Martin Luther King, Jr. College of Ministers and Laity held its 36th Annual Session with the theme “Saving Democracy While Thriving in the Wake of Cosmic Trauma.” Sponsored by the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel at Morehouse College, it was established in 1985 to honor individuals whose life and work exemplify the ethical ideals promoted by the Morehouse’s most prominent alumnus Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Each year a selection of persons representing various faith traditions and vocations are inducted from around the world.
One of this year’s honorees was John Thomas III, an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science and a 2004 graduate of Morehouse College. Thomas was inducted into the College’s Board of Sponsors in recognition for his work with The Christian Recorder, the official newspaper of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the nation’s oldest newspaper continuously published by African Americans. He has served as Editor since 2016.
“It is a double honor for me to not only have the work of my team highlighted, but also to be recognized by my alma mater in the company of so many other worthy individuals, “ commented Thomas.
