The Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Festival exposes attendees to a wide selection of sweetgrass baskets and merchandise, as well as opportunities to engage in hands-on sweetgrass basket making demonstrations.
Local artists and crafters will showcase handmade quilts, Gullah dolls, and various handmade art works for sale. Entertainment will consist of local singers, gospel groups, storytellers, praise dancers, and much more.The festival activities and events are designed to provide a family fun environment where children can enjoy face painting, water slides, jump castles and various educational arts and crafts projects. Delicious Lowcountry foods and drinks will be provided by local food vendors and restaurants for purchase. Bring the family and plan to spend the day for a Gullah Geechee good time. Free admission and parking. The Sweetgrass Cultural Arts Association is sponsored in part by the S.C. Arts Commission and the Town of Mount Pleasant.

Lowcountry Juneteenth Experience Celebrating Black Excellence Celebrate ~ Educate ~ Motivate June 11th – June 19th. The Lowcountry Juneteenth Experience will highlight black owned businesses with curated events throughout the city.

Charleston Carifest is a Caribbean Carnival celebration in honor of Caribbean American Heritage Month. It is three days of food, fun, music, and costumes submerged in education and culture. This is the creative and artistic expression of Caribbean people. Join in and embrace Unity in Diversity.
Charleston Carifest 2022 will recognize and celebrate the Queens of the Caribbean and the beautiful Virgin Islands. Carifest starts on Thursday with an Opening Reception and an educational symposium, followed by the All White Fete on Friday. Saturday's events feature a Mardi-Gras style Street Parade through the streets of downtown Charleston, leading to the Carnival Village at Brittle Bank Park.

Parade Time: 4 pm
Parade Route: Parade Route is John Street to King Street, down King Street, to Sumter to Congress Street, to Hagood to Brittle Bank Park.
Admission: Free
