Charleston Area Senior Citizens - Meals on Wheels of Charleston Receives Donation from Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation

Charleston Area Senior Citizens has received $2,000 from the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation to help feed neighbors in their time of need. Charleston Area seniors will use the gift to purchase foods for its weekday Breakfast Club.

“With the rising costs of food, programs that help alleviate food insecurity in seniors are more important than ever. Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation has been there to support seniors right here in Charleston. We are very thankful for their ongoing support,” said Executive Director, Donna Cook.

The Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation is committed to supporting families facing food insecurity across its 10-state footprint. Established in 2001, the foundation provides financial support for programs and organizations dedicated to feeding local neighbors in the communities it serves. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $17.8 million in grants.
