The Charleston, SC Club of DC 75th Anniversary

The Charleston, SC Club of DC will celebrate its 75th anniversary July 7-10, 2023, with events scheduled at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center in North Charleston. More than 90 members live in Washington, DC and other parts of the United States with a collective interest in preserving the African American culture and history of the lowcountry.
The public is invited to attend the welcome reception July 7th from 7-10pm at the Embassy Suites; a seafood bash July 8th from 12-5pm at James Island County Park; a Sunday gospel dinner July 9th from 1:30-4:30pm at Royal Missionary Baptist Church; and the anniversary gala July 10th from 7-11pm at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
The organization makes annual contributions to charities in the DC area to assist needy families and the homeless. The Club is also a Charter Member of Charleston’s International African American Museum.
