Ethel Lee Gadsden, April 22, 1929 - January 27, 2023

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Mrs. Ethel Lee Gadsden of Moncks Corner, SC, who entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 27, 2023.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her children, Barbara Goodwine, Geneva (David) Pinckney, Mary (Harris) Borden, Cynthia "CC" (Jerome) Fulton and Dexter (Debra) Gadsden; siblings, Herlene Johnson, Henry "Jule" Ferguson, Jr. and Isaiah Ferguson; daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren, family and friends.

Mrs. Gadsden was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Johnnie Gadsden; and sons, Johnnie Gadsden, Jr., Edward "TJ" Gadsden and Clyde "Tokey" Gadsden.

The family is receiving friends at the Pinckney residence, 1284 Hard Pinch Road, Moncks Corner, SC from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily. Face masks are required when visiting the home.

A service celebrating the life and legacy of Mrs. Gadsden will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Cordesville United Methodist Church, 1400 Doctor Evans Road, Moncks Corner, SC. Interment will be in the church's cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Face masks are required.

Tajuana Rivers Monroe, October 5, 1975 - January 19, 2023

Mrs. Tajuana Rivers Monroe of Houston, TX, formerly of Moncks Corner, SC, entered into eternal rest on January 19, 2023.

A memorial service celebrating her life and legacy will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, 12:00 p.m., at the Berkeley Church of Christ, 1483 Highway 52, Moncks Corner, SC.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her husband, Gerald Monroe; children, Bradford Glover II and Mariah Glover; mother, Margaretta "Angie" Mack (Arthur); brothers, Kevin, Terrel and Malik Rivers; grandparents, Eva Lee Huggins and John Gethers; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Glover was preceded in death by her father, George "Billy" Rivers and sister, Latoya Rivers.

Julia Vanderhorst Brown, March 10, 1931 - January 29, 2023

Mrs. Julia Vanderhorst Brown, 91, of the Four-Mile community of Mt. Pleasant, SC, entered eternal rest on Sunday, January 29, 2023. She leaves to cherish her memories her children: Elijah Brown, Jr. (Mary), Saletha B. McFadden (Gabriel), Julia B. McCall (Calvin), Annette Yvonne McFadden, Anthony Brown (Irene), Kevin Brown, Fred Allen Brown (Nataki) and Stanisha B. Vick (Chad); stepson: Ray Charles Capers; sibling: Martha Pearl Ascue (Timothy); Brothers-in-law: William Washington (Pearl) and Robert Goodwine (Pearl). She was preceded in death by her husband: Elijah Brown, Sr.; stepson: James Capers: son-in-law: Douglas McFadden.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, February 2,2023 at Bushy Pond 1396 State Rd. Norway, SC 29113 beginning at 11:00am. All those attending must wear a mask and adhere to all COVID-19 rules and regulations.

There will be a viewing for Rashard on Sunday February 5, 2023 from 4-6 PM at the Funeral Home Parlor.

The most precious memories of Rashad Jamal Simmons will resound in the life of his beloved, children; Zoey Simmons, and Ahmir Bradley, parents; Warren and Linda Simmons, siblings; Donte Simmons, Warren Ravenel, Travis Reed, and Vonshawnna Evans, uncles; Andrew Simmons, Gary (Manesa) Simmons, and Samuel Davis Jr. Aunts; Johnnie Mae Jackson, Sandra (Marceller) Reed, Jacquelyn (Franklin) Goodwater, Cynthia Simmons and Wilhelmina Simmons. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mitchell; children: Sierra Hollins, Leonard Mitchell Jr. (Danielle) and Brandon Mitchell; grandchildren: Amauri, McKenia, Addison, Caeleah, Brandon Jr., Kha'zyen, Ja'Quantaz, Carla, Malia, Elysha, Ava, Avery, Samuel and David; parents: Eli Scott and Alethia Mitchell; siblings: Kenneth Myers (Margaret), Lavern Wright (Anthony), Shelia Herbert (Leonard), Charles Mitchell (Kelly), Matthew Johnson, and Eric Rhodes (Evageline); mother-in-law: Carrie B. Jamison (Robert L. He received an Honorable discharge after serving in the United States Marine Corp (USMC) and later retired from the City of Charleston Public Services Department.
