*Louise J Carter, October 31, 1932 - January 8, 2023*

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8.

It’s with profound sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our mother, sister, a faithful member of Morris Street Baptist Church for eighty-nine years, and an educator.

Mrs. Louise J. Carter, 90, a resident of Charleston, SC transition from labor to reward on Sunday morning, January 8, 2023. She was the beloved wife of, the late Rev. John K. Carter, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to, four loving and devoted children; Dr. John K. Carter, Jr., Mrs. K. Vanessa Stewart (Robert), and Mrs. Cynthia E. Frasier (Solomon, Sr.), one sister, Mrs. Rachel M. Jones, other relatives, and friends.

*Louis Saint Germain Jones, October 27, 1943 - January 06, 2023*

U.S. Army Veteran Mr. Louis Saint Germain Jones, 79, of Charleston, SC, beloved husband of Mrs. Barbara Jones, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 6, 2023.

Louis Saint German Jones, husband of Barbara Washington Jones, departed this life peacefully on Friday night January 6, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. He was one of eleven children of Benjamin Jones, Sr., and Louise Nowlin Jones. He was born on October 27, 1943, in Georgetown, South Carolina. His parents; sisters: Wilhelmina Maybank Taylor, Henrietta Jones Howze, and Helen Jones Keith, brothers: Benjamin, Jones, Jr., Lawrence Jones, Floyd Jones, Bernard Jones, and George Jones; and granddaughter, Deena Cherisse Branch all preceded him in death. Another sister, Iris Caughman, passed on January 9, 2023.

Louis was educated in Georgetown County public schools. A 1962 graduate of Howard High School, Louis attended North Carolina A. and T. University before he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After returning from Vietnam, he continued his education at North Carolina A. and T. University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1970. He later earned a Masters in Electrical Engineering in 1983 from the University of South Carolina. Louis was a civilian engineer for the U. S. Navy until his retirement. He enjoyed electronics, painting, jujitsu, and karate, in which he was a black belt. Louis attended the Historic Bethel AME Church in Georgetown, South Carolina as a child and later Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in North Charleston, South Carolina until he became ill.

To cherish his memories, he leaves behind his devoted wife of 53 years; their four children: Dr. Cherisse Jones-Branch (Ezell), Dr. Audrey Saint Germain Jones, Deborah Jones-Wheeler (Thomas), and Louis Saint Germain Jones II (Cherie); his grandchildren: Lauren, Louis III, and Lailah Jones; a brother, Wilfred “Fuzzy” Jones as well as a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, other loving relatives, and special friends.

Public walk-through on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Murray's Mortuary: North Charleston Chapel. Celebration of Life Service on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 12:00 PM, Mt. Horr African Methodist Episcopal Church. Interment with Military Honors to follow service.

*Earl Williams, Jr., September 27, 1942 - January 5, 2023*

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Earl Williams, Jr. of St. Stephen, SC (Alvin community), who transitioned into eternal life on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Mr. Williams was the widower of Mrs. Martha Lee Williams.

Those left to cherish his memory are: his daughter, Mrs. Wanda (Kenneth) Rivers; grandchildren, Kenneth Jr., LaKendra and Demetre Rivers; great-grandchildren, Jayden and Jasmine Rivers and Marco Greene, Jr.; siblings, Ms. Ethel Kelly, Mrs. Sherry (Harrison) Holmes and Mr. Vernon Wright; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Due to the Covid pandemic, the family will not be receiving friends at their residence. They are grateful for your prayers and understanding during this difficult time.

Viewing and Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, January 14, 2023, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home (Moncks Corner). Face masks are required.

*Bobby H. Washington, September 19, 1945 - January 8, 2023*

Bobby “Hunna” Washington was born on Wednesday, September 19, 1945, to the late Catherine Lucille Washington Collier in Holly Hill, South Carolina. He was raised in his grandparents, Isaac and Minnie Small Washington home until he became 18-years-old. He entered eternal rest in North Charleston, South Carolina on January 8th, 2023.

Bobby was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County, his primary education from Cypress Hill, Holly Hill, South and from St. James Elementary in Eutawville, South Carolina.
Bobby joined church at an early age. He was baptized at St James Missionary Baptist Church, Eutawville, South Carolina and later his membership was moved to Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Eutawville, South Carolina; where he served until, he entered eternal rest.

Bobby labored in the many fields in Holly Hill and Eutawville, South Carolina until he relocated to Bronx, New York at 18-years of age. Bobby lived with his late cousins late Isaac and Jimmy Washington and Kenneth Washington on Webster Avenue, Bronx, New York until his marriage. He obtained housing in Harlem, New York and reside in the city for the next 20 years before he returned to live in Holly Hill, South Carolina. In Holly Hill, SC Bobby met and married his current wife, Jeanette Johnson. They lived there until illness forced Bobby in Trident Medical Center for serious illness; illness that was the reason for his eternal rest.

Bobby was a hard worker. Finding employment in Manhattan, NY in maintenance engineering, he employed his skills as an elevator operator for over 25 years. There he retired and returned home to work his many gardens. His gardens provided nutriments to everyone free of charge. There was never a charge for his willful efforts. Efforts Bobby learned under the tutelage of his, now only living Uncle Paul Jesse Washington.

Bobby had no biological children. However, he was the father of many. Many including stepchildren Raymond and Alley Riveria and David, Clearence, Williams and Allica Johnson and to tens of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Bobby was a faithful husband to Jeanette for 14 years.

Bobby was proceeded in death by his brothers Donnie Bunny Collier, Jesse Tim Collier, sister Ruth Collier Wilkerson and Mother Catherine Lucille Collier and grandparents Isaac and Minnie Washington.
Bobby leaves to mourn and carry-on her sweet memories wife Jeanette of the home, sisters, Mary Jane Collier and Catherine Marie Collier of Bronx, New York; brothers Ruben Collier of Ansonia, Connecticut and Willie Collier of North Charleston, SC; uncle and patriarch Paul Jesse Washington of Holly Hill, SC; goddaughter, Dedra Collier Sumpter, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 149 Surfside Dr., Holly Hill, SC. Please use COVID-19 Protocol when visiting the family.

*Leroy Nelson, Sr., March 12, 1931 - January 8, 2023*

*Evangelist Marry Ann Jenkins, January 15, 1964 - January 1, 2023*

Evangelist Marry Ann Jenkins 58, of Charleston, South Carolina entered into eternal rest Sunday, January 1, 2023. She is survived by her loving Daughters, Candace Jenkins, Jonell Jenkins; Granddaughters: Landyn Drayton, Avery Foy; Sister: Sandra Stokes; Brother: Anthony Stokes (Sheila). She was preceded in death by her Sisters: Barbara Heyward (Daniel), Tangelia Stokes, Annette Elliott (Jimmy), Blondell Gaillard (Cleveland); Brothers: Michael Stokes (Rebecca).
