HISTORY: For 11 Years Charleston Wears White has been an exclusive and highly anticipated event for elite professionals and socialites in the Lowcountry.

In 2008, local millennial business analyst- Henry Ravenel created the event centered around an evening of Jazz, networking and hors d’oeuvres at the former Toucan Reef Restaurant/Aquarium Wharf section of downtown. The event emerged as the Lowcountry’s best kept secret for African American professionals. CWW rotated to notable venues such as: No. 5 Faber, King Grants Golf Club, Vendue Inn Roof Top, King Street Grill, Vibez Restaurant, Huger’s 587 King, Suede Supper Club, Lake House at Bulow, Union Station Charleston and many more.”

A NEW ERA: At the event's 10 Year Anniversary, Ravenel has passed the torch of responsibility to the Executive Board of the Charleston Area Black Caucus, a Political Action Committee, under the Diversity & Inclusion Council of the Southeastern Chamber.

The evening will serve as a Social Party-with- Purpose, beginning with a business and cocktail our that celebrates the accomplishments of 40 African American residents, businesses, industry professionals and entrepreneurs in Charleston, all while connecting them to existing organizations and potential colleagues.

If your new to Charleston or a current resident wanting to connect with fresh minds and new faces, this event is your official welcoming and is just right for you.
