Rev. Randolph Miller, M. DIV Greater Unity A.M.E. Church

Rev. Randolph Miller is one of five sons to the Late Rev. Clifton and Mrs. Bertha Miller of Charleston, SC. Rev. Miller was born in Beaufort, SC and attended public schools of Beaufort County. When his father transferred to Charleston, he furthered his education in the Charleston County Public School System.

Rev. Miller is a graduate of M. Rutledge Rivers High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Communications from Knoxville College in Knoxville, TN. Rev. Miller also attended Erskine Theological Seminary, and received his Masters of Divinity Degree from Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, OH.

Rev. Miller is also a member of the South Carolina Annual Conference of the 7th Episcopal District. He served two (2) years at Bethel A.M.E. Church on Edisto Island, SC, fifteen (15) years at Emanuel A.M.E. Church West of the Ashley, and thirteen (13) years at Nichols Chapel A.M.E. Church in Downtown Charleston. Now he serves as the First Pastor on the Charleston District at Greater Unity A.M.E. Church in Holly Hill, SC.

Rev. Miller is a Conference Trustee for the South Carolina Annual Conference, writes resolutions for the Annual Conference, and coordinates the state choir of the 7th Episcopal District.

Rev. Miller retired after twenty-nine (29) years of service from WCSC-TV (Channel 5) where he worked in the areas of production, a master control switcher engineer, hosted “Randolph’s Journal” for 7 years, as well as “Inspirational Sounds”. Following a brief retirement, Rev. Miller was called back to host the talk show “Bounce Around Charleston”, which is currently seen on the Bounce Network for the past 10 years.

Rev. Randolph Miller is involved in many community projects and organizations. He served as a board member of Trident United Way, president of the Charleston Community A.M.E. Ministerial Alliance, a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., served on the board for Tourism for the City of Charleston. In addition, Rev. Miller also serves on the City of Charleston MLK Monument Committee.

Rev. Miller has been recognized several times for his community service and involvement by the City of Charleston MLK and Moja Arts Festival Committees. Most notably, he is recognized for his rendition of the song “Tis the Old Ship of Zion” a the Homegoing Service of The Late Senator Clementa Pinckney before the eulogy given by President Barack Obama.

Rev. Miller celebrates 35 years in ministry and believes the words of Jeremiah 29:11 which states, “I know the plans I have for you saith the Lord…”
