CCSD To Co-Sponsor NCPD’s Powder Puff Football League

Charleston, SC — Charleston County School District (CCSD) is proud to announce its sponsorship of the North Charleston Police Department’s (NCPD) Cops Athletic Program Powder Puff League this fall. The regular season kicks off on Monday, September 26, 2022, at the District 4 Regional Stadium at 6:00 p.m.

Following the season-opening games on September 26, the remaining regular season contests and most of the playoffs will be played at Lynda Davis Field on the Northwoods Middle School campus. The following high schools from CCSD, Berkeley County School District, and Dorchester School District Two will participate this season:

- Ashley Ridge High School

- Fort Dorchester High School

- Hanahan High School

- Military Magnet Academy

- North Charleston High School

- R.B. Stall High School

The teams will play Monday and Tuesday evenings starting next week through early November. The championship game, also known as the “Powder Bowl,” is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on November 9, 2022, at the District 4 Regional Stadium. The season will conclude the following week with a banquet to recognize the outstanding players and championship team.

“We are thankful for CCSD’s support,” said Sgt. Brandon Brooks, NCPD Cops Athletic Program Supervisor. “The district’s involvement allows this league to flourish with consistent locations. Plus, the opportunity to play the championship in the District 4 Stadium will mean a lot for the players and coaches.”

This will be the seventh year for the NCPD Cops Athletic Program Power Puff League; the league took two years off (2020 and 2021) due to COVID-19.

“We hope the players and coaches have a rewarding season,” added CCSD’s Chief Operating Officer Jeff Borowy. “Our district understands the importance ofteamwork and competition, and we hope this partnership provides the league with stability as well as the opportunity to grow in the future.”
