Darjae Carter (December 8, 1992 - September 18, 2022)

We regret to announce the passing of Darjae Carter, 29, of Cross, SC who entered into eternal rest on September 18, 2022 in Goose Creek, SC. Darjae was the loving and devoted mother of Master Izaiah, forever loving daughter of Lorenzo & Charlyn Carter; loving sister of Janita & Cheyenne Carter.

The family will be receiving family and friends at their residence. A face mask is required to be worn at all times while at the residence. Continue to keep the Carter family in your prayers during this difficult time.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 4:00 PM at North Palm Church ( in the Portal ) 7138 Cross County Rd. Suite A, North Charleston, SC 29418.

The family ask that everyone please wear Darjae’s favorite color red as everyone gather together to Celebrate her life as she would have wanted everyone to do.

Evelyn Mazyck Capers Howell (June 19, 1936 - September 24, 2022)

Mrs. Evelyn Mazyck Capers Howell, 86, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 24, 2022.

Mrs. Howell is the wife of the late Rev. Unslo "Rob" Howell. She is survived by her children: Josephine Capers Richardson and Edward Capers, Jr.; and grandchildren: Jonathan Capers, Latisha Williams, Candance Thompson, Steven Richardson, Anastasia Capers and Arleane Capers.

She was a L.P.N. Nurse.

Walk-through viewing will be held Thursday, Sptember 29, 2022 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Rev. Bryan McNeal, Sr. Memorial Chapel

Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Greater Howard Chapel AME Church 8592 Old Georgetown Road, McClellanville, SC 29458.

Giovanni Conyers (January 15, 1938 - September 24, 2022)

Mr Giovanni (Gino) Conyers, son of the late Mr. Joseph Conyers and the late Mrs. Vashti Goff Conyers, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at the McCoy Memorial Nursing Center in Bishopville, SC. His passing was peaceful.

He was born in Charleston, SC and educated in Charleston and Dorchester county public schools. He was in the US Navy for several years. He also worked for Broyhill Furniture Company for over ten years and later he pursued his longtime dream of becoming a nurse. He went to nursing school and became a nurse. He worked at Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia until he retired in the early nineties.

At the time of his most recent illness, he became a resident of McCoy Memorial Nursing center, Bishopville, SC where he considered it home.

He is survived by his Neices; Vashti Richardson of Tamarac, FL; Shirley (Michael) Richards, Goose Creek, SC; Wanda (Stephen) Jessamy of Manhattan, NY and Nephew; Derrick (Alfreda) Richardson. The Graveside Service for Mr. Conyers will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2022, 11:00 am at Mitten Lane Cemetery, Moncks Corner, SC. The Walk Thru will take place on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mary Ellen Broughton Watson (August 18, 1944 - September 25, 2022)

Ms. Mary Ellen Broughton Watson, 78, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

Betty M. Washington (September 22, 1936 - September 22, 2022)

Ms. Betty M. Washington, 86, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 22, 2022. She leaves to cherish her memories, children: Kenneth Whaley (Sharon); grandchildren: Stephanie Livington, Nichloas Washington (Mia), Dominque Washington, Malik Washington; great grandchildren: Jayce Washington and Mikayla Washington; siblings: Nettie Whaley and Daughter-in-law: Lula Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Nickloas Whaley and Susan Whaley.

She was a Home Care Provider.

Cassandra Lott Wilson (February 5, 1964 - September 23, 2022)

Cassandra Lott Wilson, 58, of 549 Lee Street, passed away on Friday evening, September 23, 2022 in Aiken Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Saluda, SC, February 5, 1964, daughter of the late James Thomas and Corine Green Lott. At an early age, she joined Bethlehem Baptist Church. She received her education in the publics of Saluda, South Carolina where she graduated from Saluda High in 1982. She was employed by Palmetto.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lemuel Lott and Stanley E. Lott.

She leaves to honor and cherish her memory; three sisters, Walter Mae Abney and Thelma Lott both of Saluda, SC and Glinder Lott of NewJersey; one brother, James E. Lott of Saluda, SC. two aunts, Eliza Lott of Saluda, SC and Annie L. Green of Philadelphia, PA; one uncle, Jim Green of Philadelphia, PA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.

The family is at the home of her sister, Walter Mae Abney 203 Willow Loop Apt# 203, Saluda, SC.

Tressie Lockwood Johnson (October 22, 1969 - September 25, 2022)

Ms. Tressie Lockwood Johnson, 52, of Huger SC, entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

She leaves to cherish her memories her parents: Louis and Joann Lockwood; children: Rahime Lockwood, Kalif Johnson and Ny'Asia Johnson; grandchildren: Ka'Maya White, Zayden White, and Adrian Lockwood; siblings: Louis Lockwood, Jr., Dwain Lockwood, Anthony Brown, and Shaunda Brown; step sister: Cathy Hargett (Steve).

She was employed in the Custodial Industry.

Elijah Simmons (September 27, 1937 - September 25, 2022)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Elijah Simmons of Moncks Corner, SC, who departed this life on Sunday, September 25, 2022.

Those left to cherish his memory are: sisters, Mrs. Corine Chavis and Rev. Thelma (Deacon John) Perkins; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Andra F. Mitchell, 39, entered into eternal rest on September 20, 2022. She is the mother of Tyrique Mitchell, Amarion Mitchell and Alexandra Jenkins; daughter of Sylvia F. Reid (Chareton); sister of Penzola Kisic, Jermaine White, Tonya Pemberton and Demetrio Deterville.

She was preceded in death by: her father, the late James Jerome Mitchell; her grandmother, Mrs. Mae White; her grandfather, Mr. Samuel White, and grandmother, Ms. Jean White.
