“Getting Saucy” BBQ Sauce Competition September 24, 2022

The ARC of the Lowcountry and Firefly Distillery presents...

“Getting Saucy with the Arc of the Lowcountry” BBQ Sauce Competition fundraising event.

This anticipated event will host 3,500 BBQ lovers in beautiful North Charleston, SC at the Firefly Distillery from 11am – 6pm. This fun event will feature live entertainment by Lauren Hall, Ben Fagan & The Holy City Hooligans, Lafaye, and live music by DJ Natty Heavy plus a corn hole competition, activities for all event-goers, and of course, the BBQ sauce!

The sauce will be the only determining factor in the competition. There will be no added seasonings permitted on the BBQ.

Dozens of your favorite sauce makers from around our state will go head to head, or rather, “sauce to sauce”, in the

mild red, hot red, mustard, vinegar, and specialty categories. Winners in each category are awarded, with one winner

declared the South Carolina BBQ Sauce Grand Champion. “Getting Saucy” guest judges include the City of Charleston’s

Mayor John Tecklenburg & Black Food Friday’s KJ Kearney.

The event is sponsored by SWAMP Tonic and Southern Flavor Magazine.

The ARC of the Lowcountry are one of more than 600 state and local chapters across the country united under the mission of advocating for services for citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities

to ensure they have the services and support they need to grow, develop, and live in the community.
